Well, here I am an RN, when i happen to meet the most amazing man in the world... ah, but there is a catch.. HE LIVES IN NORWAY!!!
Can you see where I am going with this? I would appreciate any information someone could give on what it takes to get licensure in Norway to practice nursing. I have contacted several government agencies, but you know how that goes... So I am reaching out to my fellow nurses (hey, we usually know everything anyway...) to at least give me a good starting point.
HELP!!
Thanks to all,
Kristine

thanks for the advice... just so you know, i have known this amazing man for 2 years. have been to his lovely home in the mountains many times, and he has been to visit me as well. we have also been lucky enough to take many wonderful trips all over the world together. we talk on the phone almost everyday and remain in constant contact via messenger. and by the way, i am 38 years old with a grown son, so i don't consider this chasing a man anywhere. i was lucky enough to find the love of my life. we have decided to marry and i want to live in his beautiful country with him. i just thought it would be helpful for someone who actually was familiar with nursing practice in norway to give me some advice. the government services are just not very helpful. there is no need for me to work, but i have been a nurse most of my life, and i can't see myself giving that up completely.

Hello!
Yes, I am from NORWAY and have been a nurse for allmost 20 years, in nursing educating and clin. nursing. YOU HAVE TO TAKE CONTACT WITH "AUTORISASJONSKONTORET" IN the main city Oslo. They can give you authorizasation, but you will need some language test and test about laws and so on. Send me a note if you want the excat adress, phonenb. and more information from "The Norwegian nursing ass." I have been in touch with the authoriz. off. , because I have worked with education/training of doctors assistent who needed "autorisasjon". The system is complicated, but if you are an american nurse, its a "plus", they usually have a good nursing education platform (much theory). They arr. classes for foreign nurses. Please feel free to send me a p.m.! Best wishes from
