Hello,
I am new to this site and have been reading a lot of great information here.
I am starting to send out marketing packets and was curious about something. I read that someone sent out a packet that was in a round tube, very different and unusual mail to receive in an office. They included some kind of "goody" for the office. Do you think this works or would it be taken as silly and useless marketing?
Also, I read somewhere that there is is an RLNC, what is this and how do you go about getting information on it? Nothing came up when I googled it.
Thank you for all the great information and I'm glad that I found you.

Hi Preop! The RLNC credential is from another educational program - www.medicalconsultingnetwork.com. There are quite a few different programs out there with several different acronyms to ID their certification programs.
When you are doing your research, consider using other search engines too. I find that google doesn't always give me all the hits that I want. I use quite a few search engines to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I don't know what the general consensus is on odd shaped packages. Some people might think it was hokey or annoying and other times would grab attention.
Goodies are always an attention grabber though. People like free stuff, even if it is just a pen, a sticky pad, or food. I haven't bought pens or sticky notes in a while - have a drawer full of them from reps. And there are definitely reps that have gotten my attention with their goodies - especially on a day when lunch isn't happening and they bring in a treat that can be eaten on the go. Since you have to get past the gatekeeper who is more likely than not to be a woman, chances are a well thought out goody will get some attention and appreciation.

Hello, preoprn, and welcome to allnurses.com and the Legal Nursing forum
I like that idea (round tube) as it does get someone's attention. Bear in mind, however, these are quite expensive and in the beginning (when finances are slim), you might want to utilize this method sparingly. But, good idea!!
I see that RN1989 answered your question about RLNC. I agree with her, too, about "goodies" for the gatekeeper (as well as Paralegal, Legal Secretary, etc.). Always........always bring plenty so as not to leave anyone out when you arrive.
Another thing; always have more than one marketing packet (cold calls/interviews) for you never know with whom and/or how many you will be meeting. Don't go unprepared and expect the unexpected.
Good luck with your career as LNC!!!! And, we hope you enjoy allnurses!!
