Hello everyone

I am new to the site and am thinking about taking the CRNA route. I graduated from ICN (WSU) 2.5 years ago and was hired at Harborview Medical Center's Burn ICU and Peds/Trauma ICU as a new grad. Now that I have a few years of ICU under my belt I am seriously thinking about appling to CRNA schools. Currently I am studing for the GRE (the vocab scares me to death) and then plan on taking the CCRN. Any advice or stories would be great!

Welcome JALRN. I'm new too. I take the GRE tomorrow so I cleared my schedule today to do a last minute cram session. I've been studying for it for a while now. Math is my big road block. I consistently score in the 460-480 range on the practice tests. I'm o.k. at vocab. The nice thing is that they combine the scores so that your strength in Math will help if you blow it on the vocab.

I'll be submitting apps to several schools this Fall so I'm in the middle of ordering transcripts and asking for letters of recommendation. It's a logistical nightmare!

I have 15 months experience in the ICU where I work. I started there straight out of nursing school with no prior nursing experience. It's been a tough year.

Great to meet you ICUDOUCME?! I wish you the best of luck on the GRE! It will be so nice to have it done and out of the way. Likewise it will be nice that they combine the two scores to help out your math score, but I am sure you would do fine without it. Let us know how it goes and good luck once again.
