Hello all!
I currently work in ICU, about to hit my first year and I am co-currently working on my bachelors. In a course I recently took, they allowed you to explore different things you were interested in, and I realized that teaching would not only suit me, that I really actually enjoy it.
I know that I have a long time before I would be experienced enough to teach. I do have three years LVN experience, including a nursing home (can you say time management skills?), and a community health clinic.
I've noticed that most instructors I've encountered at the university level tended to work in several departments, such as med-surg, psych, peds. So in this situation, it would be recommended that I eventually transfer to another departments as well right?
I do want to consider an advanced degree (Phd?), but I was going to wait a few years since I need more experience anyway and probably a small break after my bachelors! I've been working and going to school since I was 16 continuously.
Also, is Sigma Theta Thau a good boost to the resume for pursuing Education? They offer it at my Bachelors program and I do believe I have the grades.
Thanks!
