Hello everyone! I am a recent graduate from a small school where i obtained a ba in biological psychology. i had a few questions as to i am pretty confused as to what i needed to do to get into anesthesia. i know that my major isnt nursing but where do i go from here? i know that i want to pursue this career however im just a bit confused as to what my next step needed to be since i dont have the "nursing" major. anything will help. i have been researching and i see the roads people have taken but that was with the nursing degree. any comments? i would appreciate it very much.

E Layne,

First read the FAQ at the top of this forum. It will explain the pre-reqs you need in order to get into anesthesia school. If you have more questions after that, post in the Pre-CRNA forum and we will try to help. Good luck to you.

First, you have to have a degree in nursing and at least a year of ICU exp. You may find some schools that will accept your BA in biological psychology and an ADN. I know from researching school that some will take a nurse with a 2-year degree in nursing and a BS in certain fields mainly biology or chemistry. That is not to say a school will not accept a BA in something I never looked for one.
