Jun 18, 2015 Hmm - I am assuming that this means that the position involves caring for heart failure patients, right? Depends upon whether it is an acute or chronic population. I would imagine you'd be expected to know in-depth patho, assessment & management of patient problems. Patient education would be very important for outpt management, particularly fluid balance, meds & nutrition. Since these patients tend to be geriatric, you'd also be expected to understand patho re: geriatric changes (renal clearance, musculoskeletal changes, sensory decline, etc).
