I am interested in attending Marymount University in Arlington VA. I just wanted to know if anyone heard any good/bad things about the programs. I am looking to relocate to the VA area from Charlotte NC. Does anyone have any recommendations on safe areas to live/ and jobs. I currently hold my MSW looking to do a career change to nursing. I would also like to continue to work. Please help..I am open to any suggestions.

Tanzie,

I just graduated from Marymount in Dec. For the most part I enjoyed it. I have been told that they have made many changes to their program. Many of the teachers I had are no longer with the program. I think your best bet is to contact Marymount and ask them if there is a student who you could contact with your questions. I'll be happy to help if I can.

Specializes in General Pediatrics, Pedi Heme Onc.

I also went to Marymount. I actually transferred because I was commuting and it got to be a bit much. Overall it seems ok. It is very expensive to attend school there. They have made alot of changes. There were a couple of good instructors and there were some terrible ones. It is a good place to go since you already have a degree you can finish in no time at all. Good Luck!

It will be very hard to work and go to school there full time. There are those that do it though. I am currently a student there and it is a very rigorous program. About 1/4 of students in med./surg failed last semester. Maybe that means that it is too hard or maybe it means you will be a great nurse when you finish.:uhoh21:
