Hi everyone! We're doing a health promotion project, along with displaying our poster boards in the school. I need some ideas. I'm not good at thinking of projects to do, I wish the prof would give us a list of topics and we choose which one....but that's not how it's done. Anyway, anyone got any ideas? It has to be health promotion NOT prevention. Thanks! :)

We did something like this a couple semesters ago...I remember someone did some type of promotion of eating healthy. They had examples of things you could eat instead of something else (like going to mcdonalds...or if you did go to mcdonalds what healthy choices there are). They also showed portion sizes. And then the kids were given a healthy snack they could take with them. It was something kind of like that...

I did a similar topic as the previous poster with childhood obesity. A few other topics I can think of:
- Breastfeeding for newborns
- Smoking cessation
- Stress management
- Prenatal care
I was actually thinking of doing something like this. Well my idea was eating organic. However....I'd feel like quite the hypocrite because there's still some things in my cupboards and fridge that aren't organic, lol....and I don't always eat healthy, considering I weigh about 20lbs overweight. So I don't think I'd be taken seriously. I don't know....it would be a fairly easy topic to do though. I have to figure this out, lol! Thanks for the suggestions. :)

I believe in breastfeeding well into toddlerhood...that would be way too much info for 1 posterboard, lol! Smoking cessation is a good one! Didn't think of that! Even stress management is good considering I'll be presenting to a bunch of college students. And I know a lot of students are doing theirs on healthy pregnancy. Thanks for the suggestions!! I'm leaning towards smoking cessation....good one for me because my mom was a heavy smoker and she's no longer living. Smoking probably being the main culprit.
