Hi all, quick question. Do you get health benefits through your employer? I am asking because I have had two different people tell me that nurses do not get any health insurence. Is this true?

You know it all depends on where you work. My sister worked for a private practice doctor and she had no insurance but my brothers girlfriends mom works for what was St. Joseph in Pontiac and she has health insurance.

Most employers (who have more than 2 or 3 employees) offer health insurance. However, some employers with only a handful of employees do not. Also, some nurses choose to take other benefits (such as more cash or more flexible schedules) instead of health insurance.
If it's important to you, you should be able to find lots of jobs that include health insurance as one of the benefits.

I'd think if you were working for a hospital, you'd be getting insurance. I do.
