Hey all, this is a funny question.
I am doing a complete health history (its only a practice, we get to do it on whomever we want..) and under the review of systems there is a "breast" area-- pain, lump, nipple discharge, rash, disease or surgery.
My "client" happens to be my boyfriend. Hopefully you can figure out where I am going with this...
Am i supposed to omit this area? He doesnt have boobs:no:, persay, but he does have nipples HAHA and I am just wondering if this part of the review of systems was applicable to men also, Or if I am supposed to omit this the same way I omit the female genitalia part....???
I am having a brain fart. Its been a long day.
.. I just reread my post and it made me chuckle, I think I need a nap!

The questions still apply.
Men have breast tissue also, it just does not typically develop to any great extent due to the lack of estrogen in normal, healthy men. (If you have ever noticed that obese men have excessive breast tissue, it is due to the presence of estrogen which is stored in fat cells.) While rare, men do get breast cancer, so these questions, silly as they seem, do apply to male patients.

Thank you! You confirmed what I already knew, but for some reason or another I was afraid to include it and then hear "...Why did you include this?"... Heh:rolleyes:
