Published

Anyone planning on applying to hccfl 's Lpn to RN program by Jan 15,2017 in order to start the summer of 2017? I'm excited because I plan to!

I got all As in my prereqs except 1 C (college algebra)

anyone else out there planning to apply?

Lots of experience at a nursing home. How long have you been a LPN?

I love it! :)

I just graduated school in November took my boards late November and started working in December so about 2 n a half months! Wbu?

I've been an LPN for 2 years now. Where did you go to school for LPN?

I went to Erwin Tech on Hillsborough. Wbu?

Same here. I went to Erwin.

Oh wait. It has been 3 years as a LPN :banhappy: .

Oh wow lol what made you want to do RN?

There's more opportunity, more chance of advancement, more knowledge, more job placement, more money. So, it's kind of like, "why not?" :). I eventually would like to get some sort of Master's, but we will see. I love what I do now, so only the future will tell. How about you?

How did you like Erwin?

Same as you. Plus it seems almost as though no one respects LPNs. And my long-term goal was always RN but I just got in the first program that took me so that's why I am now doing the bridge program. Erwin was OK. I got through I wish we had a little bit better clinical experiences though.

So true! I think our class was the last to go to hospitals. We went to Memorial Hospital, but all other locations are at nursing homes, ALFs, ect. To me, it was a mess! They were in the middle of changes to the program.

If you think Erwin was a mess, dont even get me started on Brewster haha but that's not discussion board material ... We did do clinicals at St. joseph though (when i was at brewster) so that was somewhat of a plus

do you know/remember the days and times that we'll be attending class and clinicals?
