Hi Everyone,
I'll be applying for HCC Spring 2012. I was intending on taking my prerequisites in the Fall, but I've decided to knock out A&P II and Micro this summer to avoid any complications in the application process. I'm getting conflicting reports that prereqs have to be complete BEFORE the application is due, then others say that I'm allowed 1 course in progress. Not sure, so just to be on the safe side I've opted to register for both courses over the summer.
I hope this thread will bring together all the Houston Community College Spring 2012 applicants.
Goodluck Everyone:D
If you pass the TEAS and Pharmacology class with at least a C and the Math pharm test with a 90% or above, you have a good chance you'll get accepted. After my class passed all that, we all were accepted if we had most shots out of the way. Do your absolute best in everything you do and you will go far in life! Good luck and God bless you all :)
Thank you for your encouragement hopeful_2013 :) Can you tell me about your experience with the 1st semester RNSG 1413, RNSG 1115, and RNSG 1360? What were the exams or quizzes like? How was clinicals? Oh wow, I can keep going and going with these Q's huh? Lol
For starters, I loved my experience. I was scared to death and completely nervous during clinicals. If you love what you're learning then your experience will be great too. Care plans are no joke and they took me at least 20 hours to complete one, and I did my best filling everything in to the fullest. Excuse my french, but don't "half-ass" anything in this program or you will be weeded out for sure. Always do your best and NEVER compare your work or grades to anyone one else's because no one is the same and grades alone do NOT determine a good student nurse.
STAY AWAY FROM GOSSIP! With all these women around, your bound to run into gossip; just tell them you have to go to the bathroom and leave the situation. Be above it, not of it You want friends in this program, not enemies. Tests and quizzes depend on your teachers, but if you do all of your books cd quizzes and make yourself flash-cards, you'll do just fine. In clinicals, do as much as you can. If there seems to be nothing to do, talk to a patient, hold their hand and show them you care and that they are not alone. Anything is better than nothing.
Good luck! I'm here if you need me. God bless :)
does anyone else have this show up on their registration/enrollment page?

Yes, mine took at least a week maybe two. Be patient, it will come and make a copy of the blue card. Make a copy of everything for your records
