HCA advice

Hi, just a quick question to any UK NHS workers (if there are any here, I couldnt find an active UK nursing board) I want to enter into the health service, but I thought it would help my application if I had already spent time in a hospital environment during my gap year, and was considering applying to be a Healthcare assistant for the year.

I was just wondering what the real job is like, I mean I know what the job entails, but only to the extent which the NHS job descprition describes, but somehow im guessing this wont be 100% truthful, as they want us to join up, so they wont say all the bad stuff.

Thanks!
