Good day fellow nurses.
I am wondering if doctors still order random blood sugar or fasting blood sugar for suspected diabetic patients. Younger docs in our institution usually order HBA1C (glycosylated hemoglobin) if they suspect that a patient is diabetic. Just wondering if older docs are just not updated to new trends or there is a reason why they still order FBS or RBS.
