Hello all you fellow nurses! Well here is my story: I graduated from my ADN program May 2012 at the community college, then did an accelerated RN-BSN and graduated in May 2013. I got a RN position one month after school at a clinic here but it just didn't fit well with me. The work environment was awesome, great people, great docs ect... but clinic work really isn't exciting to me personally and I longed for the acute-care setting. Unfortunately we have one hospital here, on an island, so my options are very slim considering they froze the entrance RN level positions. Luck have it, i ended up fracturing my foot one month into the clinic job which led me to resign since I had no definitive healing date. I am out of the walking boot now but have to basically re-learn how to walk again. I'm scared I will never find a job here being with limited options and just need someone else to give me their input if they have encountered a similar problem. I am aware that many places are hard to get into as an acute-care nurse but there has to be some bright light at the end of the tunnel. Anyone out there please reply! Anyone in Hawaii please reply!
