I know this question has been asked a million times before, but I wanted to ask it and see if anyone out there can advice me on my situation specifically. Currently I already have a degree, which is in Public Health and my goal is to become Public Health Nurse so I need the nursing part now. I could do an accelerated program or an associates. For me, they would both take 2 years. the accelerated is one year but has more prerequisits that i havent completed and would take me about 2 semesters to complete, but i already fulfill the prereqisits for the associates degree so i wouldnt have to waste time in completing those..and yes my degree is 4 yrs so my credits would still count. obviously the cost is another thing i am considering, it would be much cheaper to get my associates at a community college. the school i am considering for the ABSN costs 50,000 and obviously i would be in a lot of debt coming out of it so i want to make sure is it worth it? i notice and have been told that most employers prefer a BSN but given that i already have a degree in BS, would that count for anything? i want to be sure i am taking the right path in this because i want to be done with school after this. i have a 6 month old child and would like to have more children in the future so i want to provide for them, work hard and do their homework with them and not have to go back to school yet again. so, given all this, what would make sense for me to do?
i appreciate all ur advices so thanks in advance..
