Having fun while studying???

Is this possible? Right now, I have the summer off and I'm starting to feel like I need to pick up my nursing books and start studying........but I just don't have the desire to do it. The reason I feel like I need to is because I had a really hard time passing pathophysiology. And I don't want to show up in the fall not knowing anything.

I guess I'm wondering...........is there a way to make studying more fun, instead of the typical reading page after page after page?

And I'm even starting to think, "well if you don't even want to study now, how are you going to be able to study in the fall?" It's like the whole self-doubt thing going on. But I'll push through it, as I always have. Any tips for having fun while studying?

Not so sure about making study time fun, but can tell you how to fit it in your schedule. I read a few pages here and there then proceed to put a load in the washer. Come back and move on, then go back and put the load in the drier, same thing until I am done with the chapter. While I am performing the house chores I am reciting and thinking about what I just learned. At the end I go back and skim through the chapter and grab my notebook and begin my notetaking etc.

For the classes where you need to memorize certain things, I'd make flash cards and have my hubby quiz me. We would play a game and it helped me alot.

He usually complained about me always being busy and not spending time with him, so I decided to incorporate him into my study time and now he has to run away from me cause I harrass him to quiz me :chuckle

Best of luck to you :) I am sure everyone has some useful tips as well.

I might be a dork but I have a lot of fun taking NCLEX like questions on tests. I love the Nursing 3000 CD. also if you have kids, use them as studyguides. My son learned anatomy along with me because I practiced on him :)

Besides, this is your time off school right?? you could just be a bit burned out on studying and maybe your mind is telling you to back off a bit. If you keep doing something that you don't like, it won't help you like it any more. Take a break for a bit and see what happens.
