I'm enrolled in the fast track A&P for fall (I and II for 8 weeks each in the same semester). Has anyone here had A&P at TMCC? What's the deal with the cadaver lab? I'm really nervous about that part.

I took A&P I in the summer (4 weeks long) and A&P II in the fall (16 weeks long). I think the fast-track A&P where each is 8 weeks long would be a good balance. Expect to be busy, but I think it's doable.
Yeah, they usually have a cadaver. The instructors would mostly use them to demonstrate the anatomy of certain areas. Some instructors seem to use them more than others. The smell is awful, but they're rather educational. Most of lab is just looking at slides under a microscope for histology, pictures from your texts, or models. Take advantage of the models and memorize them. For lab exams, a part of the model would be what you have to identify, so if you stuck with books to study, you may not get it on a physical model.
Anyhow, overall, A&P wasn't that bad in my opinion. It would keep you busy! I would be careful with how many other classes you take with fasttrack A&P. I wouldn't do more than 1 other since that would add up to 3 for the entire semester. A&P will be pretty intense.
Thanks for the information. Who did you have?
I PM'd you.

Fast track is definitely something that can be done, as long as you can devote time to the coursework. If you eat sleep breathe anatomy and physiology you'll be juuuust fine. And the cadaver's aren't too bad once you spend a little time with them. It may seem intimidating at first. I am on the dissection team at TMCC and have seen tons of students in and out of there that have a difficult time, but warm up to them. Best of luck in your endeavors!
