Has anyone questioned becoming a nurse?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Ok so this is the thing I have worked as a CMA in the medical field so familiar on how it can be. So I went to the doctors with my husband today his appointment and all the MAs and nurses looked miserable! I mean pissed off looking, not friendly no smile no nothing! This is not the first doctors office I came into and see this, not sure if it's where I live which is a small town. The MAs looked snobby and the nurses as well including one of the secretaries. Lol omg how I have forgotten how it is to work in a clinic, I remember coming across coworkers just like them and that's one of the reasons it made my job so unpleasant! I'm very outgoing always smile and ask ppl how they are doing specially when I was the CMA I was extra nice to my patients. Ugh this just brings me back to thinking will it be like this in every medical field job u come across even as an RN? Or is it deferent? I swear my experience as a CMA wasn't all that great that at one point I thought about not perusing my RN cuz I thought it would always be this way and still question this.. I quit cuz I plan to start nursing school, but going into the clinic today just gave me flash backs of being around snobby ppl in a clinic I wonder if it's like this everywhere or just my small town lol. Anyone works or has worked with snobby Nurses or CMAs? I got the impression like they feel superior and don't ask me noting attitude. Even the Nurse practitioner I would assist in my previous job came off snobby and bossy like ( I'm above you attitude) which she was, but still always felt belittled not going to lie one of the reasons I want to peruse my RN so I won't be looked at that way. I love the medical field and enjoyed patient interactions don't see me working in any other field but question if I'm a keep coming across these type of negative ppl within the clinic work areas.

Is there a faith base hospital near you because that is where I have seen the most nicest nurses and they go above and beyond and one prayed with me once, when I was having complication after my pregnancy....Compared to the state hospital.

Ugh no there's not.. Wish I lived in a bigger city maybe that's the problem here:(

I think it all depends on the management of the facility also. If the employees are not happy then there is a reason behind this. Yes, everyone has their bad days but if everyone you see is in a pissed off mood then there is a larger problem going on.

Yes I totally agree with you on that!

There will always be crabby people you work with. Just be yourself and don't overly concern yourself with the attitude of others.
