Has anyone ever heard of or taken the HOBET?

Hello everyone!

So I have to take an exam next week called the "HOBET" to be qualified for one of the PCT programs in my area. It means "Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test".

An online source I found stated that it "measures a person’s ability to learn importance health care concepts, as well as if they have what it takes to handle the stress that comes with working in health care. It also measures a person’s social skills, since these are much more important in health care than in many other jobs."

Has anyone out there taken this test? What did you think?

Just curious to learn more about it since I've never heard of it before. Thank you in advance for any responses!

Hey, I am not sure what the test consists of but my school, which only offers BSN degrees, used to require you take it before getting accepted into the program but they stopped 2 years ago. My friend took it at two schools and failed it both times.

She said it was basic middle/high school level math and science stuff.

Good Luck!

I appreciate the response Smiley06! I'm taking it tomorrow morning and hoping it won't be too bad!

I have never heard of it and I am a PCT. Hmmmm.. I wouldn't think it would be too hard since basically a PCT is like a CNA but I am not sure. Good luck to you, do your best.

I've heard of it but never taken it.
