Hello, I have quite a few classmates who regretted going to the nursing program in this school, including myself. If you haven't gotten an acceptance letter from them yet, count it as a blessing in disguise. I myself decided to get out of the program as fast as I could. Teachers are crude and horrible to students, even the administration won't give you a time of a day. They call you names and embarrass you in front of the class. None of the students can ask questions without fear. Most of the students came in this program thinking it was run by El Camino College but there is a huge difference between instructors from these schools. If you can go somewhere else, try to get out of this ghetto school. They have a very low passing rate in NCLEX and even if they say it depends on the individual to pass it, the level of instruction you get from this school says a lot why almost half of their students are failing. If you got the acceptance letter already, all I can say is good luck to you!you will need it.
Hi vjmt,
Thanks for the reply, so u did get accepted and u decided not to go there? I myself didnt get in the program, and i was quite sad but now that i read ur article i feel alot better. Many were saying that it was an easy school but i guess thats just rumors right. Ivr also heard they are very disorganized. How was ur experience exactly
It was an easy school to get in because there was no wait list. I only realized too late that there was a reason behind that while all other schools have at least 2-3 semesters of wait. I was actually in the program until my second semester and I decided to voluntarily stop out because the whole environment just did not work out for me. I could go on and on...the teachers kept telling students they wanted to weed out the bad ones by making the course harder, wrong! the program itself wasn't hard, they just make it difficult for the students to learn anything because of all the bad attitude. Students were dropping out not because they were failing, but because the teachers are so disrespectful. El Camino College however is an entirely different story, they have the best instructors and that is why they have a good reputation in the South bay. Don't feel bad you didn't get in. Apply to another school, the wait will be worth it.
