Hi Mary!
I too contacted several nursing homes in the DFW area when I first moved down here in order to take my Texas state boards for CNA. No luck whatsoever. Even the list that the state has for nursing homes that offer the program is extremely outdated. I ended up transferring my college CNA class down here (for waiver) and am scheduled to take my state boards on July 25th. The place I went thru to do this is called the Nurse Aide Academy located in Dallas off the M.D. Love Freeway. They seem to be very good, offer the full CNA class + state testing. If you're interested I can provide you their phone number. They charged me $100 non-student fee + state exam fees but I am not sure on the cost of their full class. Good luck!! :)

I've been thinking about taking the CNA course at TCC. Does anybody have any feedback about their course? I suspect your grants won't cover it??? Is it a thorough course? I've called just about every NH in the FW area and can't find one that has on-the-job training. I've exhausted my resources. I want to find out about their course before I spend so much out-of-pocket. Any advice?
Thanks in advance.
