Harford Community College | Spring 2023 ( LPN-RN)

Published

Hi,

Anyone applied to the LPN to RN Spring program at HCC? Can anyone clarify what's needed to test out of 2nd semester Medsurg & Mental health ?  Also what I being used to study? I am still waiting on the decision.

Hello I know that this is an old post.
I applied for the Spring 2024 lpn-RN can you tell me what is needed to test out of 2nd semester?

I am a graduate of the program 2021. I tested out of mental health, being a psych LPN previously but I preferred to do med surg 1 for the sake of gaining nursing grounding that I will need for med surg 11 and med surg 111. Harford has great faculty. I am now applying for NP psych after graduating with BSN. unless you have worked in hospitals and have great nursing skills, I always recommend not testing out. out of 10 LPNs, only 4 successfully tested out successfully. the program is 18 months to graduate, so taking time to be in RN school is vital especially if you intend to further your studies. good luck!
