Harford C C Summer/Fall 2020 Nursing Application

Published

Anyone applied to the Summer/Fall 2020. What points do you have, G.P.A? Any advice from recent applicants?

Hello, I just got an email the school is closing from 3/12/2020 to 3/27/2020. After the Spring break the learning is all online. IDK how this will affect the wait time for the nursing applications. #Coronavirus#

Hopefully, it won't! The campus is closed to the public, so I would assume that means employees still have to report, could be wrong though. If that is the case, I feel like it should move faster since there are no students to bug them, LOL. My micro prof emailed us saying full online format for at least a week after Spring break, could be longer. She also said the Bio department is working together on how to finish the semester since we will lose so many labs, which makes me think employees are at the campus. Anyone else's campus close?

Hey anyone in here also apply to Cecil college RN program for fall?

Hi, Lmont519, I applied too to the Cecil College RN, for fall 2020.

I have heard reports from CCBC and Towson that it school is primarily closed to students. Faculty and staff are still allowed on campus. I’d assume Harford is doing the same to keep everything running smoothly.

Hi Let's see how this Virus will affect the whole situation. Things are unfolding every minute on the situation

Hey guys, just found this thread! I applied for Fall 2020 and am anxiously awaiting news. I didn't know if anyone else saw, but the HCC nursing homepage says this:

"Nursing program applications are still being processed. Acceptance notifications will be sent to students via their HCC email in the week of March 30, 2020."

Not sure when it was originally posted and if things have changed since the shutdown. Hope you are all doing OK!

@Pday115 I just saw this on the website. Hopefully, they email everyone and not just Summer applicants. I have also been impatiently waiting! How many points do you have? Also, are you already a student at HCC? I think the other people on the thread here are not HCC students, just applying for their program.

I know, I'm hoping the same. ? I had 14 points, an 84 on my TEAS and a 3.2 GPA, and am a current student! I'm worried about my GPA because of silly mistakes I made right out of high school... hoping the 14 points is enough to get accepted. Are you applying for any of the ATB programs?

HCC takes the highest grades and only uses retakes with the higher grade, I'm not sure if you know that or not. I know many students miscalculate their GPA because they are counting all classes and not just Nursing prereqs. They have accepted students in the past with as low as I think 11. Almost everyone I know that has applied this year has 14 or less, myself and another have 15, and two have more than that. So you have a good chance! I really want to do Umson, I haven't taken Chemistry or nutrition and I'm currently taking Micro, AP2 and two other classes to get HCC prereqs complete. I think the other ATB options require you to have Chem and nutrition completed before starting, which I won't have. Are you doing any ATB options?

Yeah... that's annoyingly my GPA just with my prereqs. I am trying for the ATB program so I am applying to FSU and Towson. I am enrolled in Chemistry now and had previously taken nutrition, so I'm all set with those! Sounds like you have quite the semester...now on top of all this COV-ID stuff. ?

I know! I honestly don't know how we are supposed to finish Micro, we haven't gotten much feedback from the instructor. AP2 I'm not worried about, but Micro is where it seems no one knows what to do. How's Chem, I was thinking about taking the 5-week Summer semester they offer, but I'm not sure how well I'll do and I don't want to ruin my GPA. Do you know how your labs are going to continue for the remainder of the semester?
