Hackensack University Med. Center- PACU

I was just looking around for anyone who might work down there, if not in the PACU then in OR or some kind of unit close to it. I was curious about the work culture and environment and some other stuff. I'm currently working in an ICU in NY but want to leave for a better experience/more opportunities and more pay, so I have an interview for the PACU this coming wednesday and would just like to know what I'm getting myself into from the people who are on the front line. If you do have any information that would be good to know I would greatly appreciate it. PM me and we'll chat. Thanks

Is it for the Evening Shift position?

The PACU is pretty busy but the people are good, alot of veteran nurses who have been there a long time, PACU positions fill up very quick and open up only every so often due to people staying their until they retire or move on. Most of the nurses I speak to on the regular seem to be happy there. I am in the SICU so if you get the position I may bump into you from time to time. Good luck and hope this helps.

Yea it is actually for that position. I had the interview today actually. And the NM down there seems (from my impression today) to be really cool person to work for. So I should find out towards the end of the week, if she wants a 2nd interview. If this doesn't work out then I'm gonna just wait for a while. One of my good friends just got into CSICU after working on 4North so apparently he caught wind of positions opening up there sometime in jan. Whether that happens of not is a different story but I guess I'll see what happens. Thanks for the info tho I do appreciate it.
