HACC LPN-RN Point System, HELP!

Published

I am a student of Hacc and attend class at the Lebanon campus. I am currently taking my A/P 2 and was told by the Lebanon instructor I will have a seat in the RN class of 2013. I got news today that the program in Lebanon and Gettysburg is cancelled and done away with. In Harrisburg, they have a point system. I can apply, (Feb 1st, NEXT WEEK!) to Harrisburg, but I am currently still taking my last class (A/P 2), so they will not give me points for that class. Out of 100 points (max) that takes 16 points away from me right away. I currently have a 3.86 GPA, will I still get into clinicals with an 84/100 points? Please someone that was in the LPN-RN bridge program, tell me the least amount of points they usually consider! I'm going crazy, my entire career goals has just been uproared. Thanks!

WOW. BAd new for me too. I recently sent in my transcripts from another college to be evaluated for admission. I plan on applying to HACC's bridge LPN-RN program at Lebanon Campus because advisor told me at Lebanon, chances of admission are higher so long as you meet the requirements. And now you are telling me they are doing away with it? Geez! I hope they send a formal letter out to state that. As a transfering student, the point system really throws me off because all transfered credits equal a C no matter the grade. And my GPA is a stinky 2.78....We'll see, am crossing fingers though. Where there's a will, there's a way!

From what I've heard from people who have done prerequisites at HACC and NOT made it into clinicals, you should wait until you finish A&P 2 to apply.
