H.S student N Maryland needs help!!!!

Published

I graduate from H.S in 3 months. I want to take CNA classes over the summer and work while i attend College in the fall. i'm going for an Associates degree as an RN. I really need the money, but i'm kinda clueless and need alot of help finding out what the best thing to do is. Also, how much is the pay for CNA's and RN's in Maryland and what should I be doing now to get ahead? Anything else you might think i need to know, PLEASE tell me. THANZ7

Listen, after u graduate immediately enroll in a CNA program if that's what u wanna do, but remember that CNA is not a necessary prerequisite to becoming a nurse, u will learn everything u need to know in nursing school. Taking up a job in a dr's office or hospital will do just as fine. Most CNA programs are about $600 or even free if u look around, usasally takes about 4-8 wks to complete. In the fall, u will probably need to get ur pre-requisites out of the way unless u have taken them all in h.s (Chem, Bio, etc) However u still may need to do Microbio, anatomy and physiology etc. Keep in mind that Maryland has some of the best nursing schools and hospitals to work at. Look at John Hopkins nursing school or Univ of Md, I don't know where u live exactly but even the pay is one of the best starting for nurses in MD. CNA ususally start of at $11.00-12 hr, RN usually $21-24 Whatever u do u have to gain full control of ur career destiny. Start finding out the requirements for nursing schools RIGHT NOW, not after u graduate from HS. Any other questions feel free to PM me. If u really want to get a head, enroll for some of ur prerequisites in the summer along with CNA training so come fall, u will have some of ur classes out of the way. If u really want it, u will be focused and find this not to be a problem. Lots of hard work.
