H5N1; Avian Bird Flu in Jails and Prisons

Anyone researching the H5N1 virus? The other day my sheriff asks me,

" What's the plan for the bird flu?" I had to tell him, if it comes to the jail we're all goners. We don't even have a national plan, much less a local plan. All the hospitals will be quickly overcome, and most of our population is in the 20 to 40 age group that will be the most vulnerable. We only have one negative airflow cell. Anyone out there chewing on a plan?

I get that question a lot from staff and inmates. I tell them the solution is at Home Depot...a shovel - just pick out your plot before the rush starts. When it comes, it will be ugly. The first wave will infect the health care workers, and that's about the end of it.
