GWU ADN to BSN/MSN Fall 2017

Published

I wanted to reach out and see how many others are applying to this program?

Saw your PM, thought I'd reply for everyone to see about this program:

I applied while I was working on completing my ADN and was given a conditional acceptance, which including a first semester at GWU gpa of 3.5 or higher. My GPA in my ADN program was like a 3.6 I believe and I just finished my BSN in Dec 16 with a GPA of 3.87 at GWU. The courses themselves aren't too challenging aside from the busy work of discussion boards and some group projects. They do require a community health clinical as part of the program but they offer some that around the VA/DC area; I ended up volunteering for 3 days at a summer camp as a camp RN at a program "sponsored" by GWU to knock my hours out; it was actually pretty cool and I worked with a great PNP there as well. In regards to the MSN portion, it is challenging as you may expect. I was accepted into the FNP program but they recently developed a ACNP which is more of my interest since ICU/ER is my background, however, they require clinicals to be done around VA which is impossible for me since I live in GA now so I may be looking elsewhere for the ACNP program. The professors are great and very easy to communicate with as well! If you have any other questions, hit me up.

Thanks for the feedback! FNP Clinical's were in VA? They didn't have anything closer to you? I'm in PA and I thought they let you do Clinical's in the state you reside in.

FNP is in your home area. ACNP is in VA
