Gwinnett Technical College LPN-RN Bridge Program Spring 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey, just wanted to know who else in planning to apply to GTC bridge program this spring.

I wonder why this thread isn’t full of applicants....the posts regarding the traditional option at this school has many! Idk if that’s a good or bad thing lol!

I'm hoping it's a good thing. I was wondering the same thing.

It’s possible the bridge applicants are working and taking Pre reqs! Hopefully.

I know this is very premature but have you heard anything? I was told second week of November we should know. I’m very anxious lol

I’m actually still doing pre reqs. I will apply for 2021. I assume you won’t find out until Nov since applications are due by October.

When I went to the information session she said it usually takes her 1-2 weeks since it's not that many people. Who told you November? I hope we don't have to wait that long.

I was assuming since applications are not due till Oct 10. So two weeks would be end of Oct

I called yesterday because when I turned in my application I didn’t even ask. But it wasn’t anyone in the actually nursing department, it was one of the ladies at that front stop desk right by the main entrance and the advisors offices. She put me on hold and said call back the second week of November and I’m like I thought they emailed us and she was like yea, so I was like then why would I need to call. I was really confused but ultimately her answer remained the second week of November. I hope you’re right though.

Also I was told they take only 20-25 people but my coworker who also applied said they told her 40 so unless it changed there is a lot of misinformation.

My paperwork says class size 20-25. Did you get all A’s in your science pre reqs?

Also the non bridge ADN program says 30-40. So I’m thinking if they have a lot drop or fail that maybe they bump up the bridge numbers. We never know.

what about you? Do you think they mainly look at the sciences? Also I retook the Kaplan on October 10 and went from a 79 to an 82.

Those sound great. I think they look at the sciences more when they have more applicants then the amount of open spots. I’m still on my pre reqs. A&P 1 have A in lecture and 85 in lab but hoping to pull the B to an A. Do you think it’s possible to take A&P 2 and microbiology together? I don’t want to take micro during the summer unless it’s easier to separate them. I hope you get in for spring. I would love to hear all about it.

Micro and A&P are 2 challenging classes. It depends if you understand the time and commitment it takes to do well, then I think it's possible. You will definitely not have a life if you do take them together but, it'll be worth it to get them out the way.
