Gwinnett Tech 2023 Nursing Program

Just wanted to see if there was anyone out there applying for the 2023 nursing program at Gwinnett Tech or has already taken the program! Submitting my application in next week ?

Just being nosey. I may be applying next year. I still need to take college algebra. Has anyone taken the TEAS? How does the Kaplan compare?

No, took Kaplan. But my friend did and she said it was much easier than Kaplan. She also said that the anatomy questions on the TEAS were much more straightforward.

Specializes in Pre-nursing.

I took both because I also applied to Lanier Tech and they require the TEAS. I was much more comfortable with the Kaplan. The math was very simple on the Kaplan (it wasn't too bad on the TEAS, but I did have to use more formulas from memory). I was able to pull much more from prerequisites for the science portion in the Kaplan. I depended on my TEAS specific studying for for the TEAS. More Chemistry than I would have loved, for sure. The reading/writing portions were comparable, but I scored higher on the Kaplan reading/writing.

Hey guys ! So surprised this thread doesn't have more activity like the other years. Anywho, I'm Metta and I applied on 2/1.  Super excited/nervous since it's our last week and a half of waiting ? Good luck to us all !

Hey! Maybe more people will find this thread now that the deadline has passed.
how did you do on the Kaplan?
I was thinking of contacting the school on Tuesday to see if I can get info about number of applicants. I'm curious to know.

Hey everyone! My name is Brenna, I applied at the end of January with a 3.8 GPA and 90% on the Kaplan. Anxiously looking forward to hearing back soon and getting more info from this thread as time goes on! Thanks for starting this & good luck to everyone!!

Great stats! Not surprising though. There's always high scores which is why GTC is is competitive. Good luck! I'm sure you'll get your welcome letter! ??

Hi ladies! Great stats. We will get in, I am sure of it!

Thank you both for the insight! I'm taking A&P2 right now so hopefully that'll help with the science portion. I didn't do as well as I would've liked on the science portion of the TEAS.

Previously there used to be a way to check the status of your application. I tried to log in through the way it used to be but I couldn't get in. I emailed the health team this morning and this was the response:

Thank you for contacting the Healthcare Team. There is not a way to monitor your application. We received your application and it was sent to the Nursing department the day after the deadline closed. They will review all applications and email your student email with their decision. Please allow 4-6 weeks for that email.

Has anyone heard anything or seen any changes on banner? I'm getting more & more anxious LOL .

Hi,

The only thing I've noticed was that they did an audit on my degree works yesterday. But that is it, no other changes. So maybe that's a good sign that we will be hearing back soon?? I'm hoping for early next week. & I am right there with you on the anxiety level...
