Hello all! I am curious to see who is applying for Fall 2020 at Gwinnett Technical College. I just submitted my application and my nerves are really feeling it!
Hope to meet you all!

Hey class of 2020! Hang in there while waiting for your results. I know the anxiety is high right now; that’s how c/o 2019 felt. We got emails the 2nd week of February. You got this. Y’all have some great scores.

Thank you for your encouragement! Can you tell us what your first semester schedule was like?

Did you have any people accepted in your class with 86 Kaplan and 3.6 gpa? I’m not feeling too confident about mine.
@MAS84 First semester we had Fundamentals on Tuesday 9-12 and lab 1-4, then for the first 2-3 weeks we had Pharm on Wednesdays from 9-12. After about 3 weeks, we started having Pharm lab from 1-4. This is where we did our simulations with "patients" drawing medications, assessments, wound care, etc.
During week 4-5 we started clinical, and we needed to know the physical assessment before then to be able to attend. So clinical rotations are either Monday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday, depending on which day you choose.
Ok, I know I said a lot, but to sum it up...
Class Tuesday and Wednesday 9-12 / 1-4 and clinical on the other day of your choosing.

Oh of course! I had an 3.6 and an 87 kaplan, and some were lower than that.

@ShaiNealRN Thank you so much for giving us an idea of what the schedule is like. It’s very helpful. Would you say that most of the students in your class seem to be doing pretty well so far, or are there a lot of people struggling with the workload?

I will say the workload is strenuous but it’s doable. Some are doing really well, and some are struggling. There are tests basically every week, lab check off, and clinical, then finding time to study several chapters of info. Also the tests aren’t knowledge based like A&P, it’s NCLEX style; application.
All in all, it can be done if you stay focused, and minimize all distractions.

Wow just wow! Did you guys get the email that starts off....
The Nursing program application deadline is changing from January 15th to February 15, 2021
My grades are not very competitive and I thought I might have a small chance to get on the wait list because I heard it was a smaller applicant pool but now with them extending the deadline....ugh
This is just so nerve racking.
Don’t panic. That’s just for next year. This years applications are said and done.

Ok I’m getting really impatient now ?
I freaked out when I saw we had an email. I thought for sure it was it. But, yeah. Another disappointing day.
I just hope that we will find out something soon....hopefully by Friday. I know that everyone must be very nervous and would just like to get some relief knowing that they made it.
