Published

I know this has been addressed before but anyone recently attend gurnik in concorde or san mateo,or ncp in hayward? I just would like some current feed back on the schools. were they professional ? were they organized? would you do it again? what was the morale like? are the instructors good teachers. How did you do on your exam? did you feel like the school really prepared you for whats on the exam? do you feel they prepared you for the real world of lvn nursing?

I did graduate from Gurnick in April. I was happy with the school and the program. It was a fairly new program (LVN) and there were some kinks being worked out. I did have a very positive experience. I am not working yet as a LVN, however I did pass nclex. NCP was another one of my choices, but the evening classes at Gurnick worked better for my schedule.

Good luck on your decision :)

The hours vary based on the classes. For the most part, we had class 4 nights a week from 5 to 9-10. Clinicals could be from 3 -8 p.m. AM classes started at 9 and ended by 1 or 2. This included breaks. Clincials generally started around 7 a.m. - 1p.m. We had a semester where we had classes on Friday nights and I have had clinicals that started at 6 a.m. It really depends on the semester and which clinicals are being offered.

The books are great, we had some great instructors .. being the first batch of LVN students on the concord campus .. there was a bit of disorganization, but thats to be expected. I did weekend clinicals @ SNF for 9mths... it worked perfect w my schedule so I could work... I learned a lot and dont regret it .. I graduate next mth!!
