Guidence

Hi everyone. I am so new to these type of sites and have no idea exactly how to use them. I was turned on by two close friends of mine who both work as at Forsyth Medical in Winston Salem NC, one in the ED and one in Mother/baby. I am currently a student at Winston Salem State University and very interested in Nursing but very aprehensive. I have read several posts by a few of you guys and I must say it does not exactly help my fear. I am confident in myself but so nervous about such a serious position. I am looking for any guidence I can find.

Hey girl! I haven't talked to you in a few on here and I wanted to see if you had started work and how it was going?

Looks like we will be moving to Harrisburg, Jase got the promotion!!

wow! that sounds like a busy but very intense and exciting few days! it sounds right up your alley! i am so happy for you that you have found something in a career that makes you so happy, that makes the days a lot easier and the ride to work a lot better!!!!

so do you work like two or three 12 hour shifts and then are off for the rest of the week? my friend works two 12 hour shifts a week and then every 3rd weekend from friday to monday or something like that. but i think she is considered part time, are you full time or part time? don't they usually start you out part time on like 3rd shift or something? i heard it takes a few to get full time hours and then first shift too. i would certainly have to adjust to that kind of change in pace. i am pretty much a night owl, but i can usually swing into a day schedule pretty easily, it's just i always manage to end up right back where i started, which is being up most nights. i've taken just about everything to try to sleep at night, but nothing works lol, so i guess 3rd shift nurse would be a great job for me huh?

speaking of that, i guess right now, my career is going to be on a slight hold. we need to concentrate on this move and adjusting there and transferring me from wssu to unc-charlotte. but i need to support jase right now as his wife and help "us" get settled there before i really decide which path i am going to take. after that, i can go back to concentrating on me.

our little get a way was so great and very relaxing. we needed that time away! jase stays so busy with work, we sometimes don't get to really spend time together like we should and every now and then he will surprise me with a little trip.

how are the wedding plans coming, is the big day coming up soon? boy you have a lot going on don't you?

well, keep me posted, i will more than likely still want to hear your nursing stories, even if my decision is on hold, if you don't mind. i don't want to be a bother to you though.

do you know much about harrisburg? i've heard it's really nice.

june! that is just right around the corner girl, those wedding plans better speed up lol. i'm sure it will be very nice :)

well, thanks again for letting me pick your brain, i won't write a book tonight lol, i'm supposed to be working on a facebook page so i can keep in touch with my girlfriends here when i move to harrisburg (they act like i'm moving to paru or something lol).

Hey girl, Long time not post on here. I have not been on here much since my last post to you due to some major and hard changes in my life, but I did want to tell you that I have decided to go into another direction with my career and honeslty with my entire life. It is a long and hard story to tell but the only way I can say it is that everything got turned upside down and EVERYTHING in my world just kind of fell apart or is at least hanging on by a very thin string right now.

I most likely won't be back on here seeing how "nursing" isn't where I am headed any longer or at least for now, but I wanted to say "thank you" for all of your advice and guidence through the short time I was on here. I felt like we had a lot in common and it was very odd and yet amazing that we found one another with such similar lives. Anyway, I was going to send a private message to you on here but I have yet to figure out how to work this site and it is telling me that I can't send any personal messages for some reason. I don't have the energy to figure it out.

Anyway, good luck with your wedding. It is coming up really soon isn't it? June is just a few weeks away!! I know you are so excited and I pray everything continues to fall into place with your life.

I know I am not supposed to post my personal email, but if you ever feel like talking or venting or keeping in touch even, my email is [email protected]. I started a facebook page, but that mess just is not for me. I have never been a big twitter, myspace, facebook type girl.

Again I want to thank you for all of your guidence. It was very nice having someone out there to reach out to. Sorry for such the delay in talking on here.
