Gtcc ranking points to aim for?!!

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hi! Just wanted to know from those of you who have been accepted or on the alternate list what's a good amount of points for GTCC Nursing program to aim for? I'm looking to get into the Fall 2012 program.. Thanks!!

I would try to get anywhere between 49-71.. those were the points they've been accepting so far. I don't know if anything will change since they have added the TEAS V and is now giving 4 points for A&P 1 and 2.

So i would try and get A's in all your pre-reqs.

Thanks for the reply! I got a long road ahead but at least I'm halfway done with these pre reqs! So are u saying 4 pts instead of the 12pts for A 8 pts for B?

ooh no i'm sorry.. it's 4 points if you get a C. This is the first time they've done that. But it would be 4 points total for both.

Also, I would take at least Med Term I if you haven't taken any science courses.. it will help you alot.

Nyanbensmommy1, are you currently in the nursing program at GTCC? I just finished my TEAS V with a score of 79.3% and have 45 points. Do you think this is competitive for the Fall 2012 Program? I will finish with all of my pre-req classes this semester (Spring 2012). I also have a current GPA of 3.77. Your opinion is appreciated!

I know this is a little late, but just saw this thread. @Lmthompson87...did you wind up getting accepted? Or do you still have time before you'll find out? I'm a LPN and am trying to get into the LPN to RN program that starts Summer 2013. I am taking A&P1 & PSY 150 this summer semester and will be taking A&P2, COM 110, and maybe ENG 112 in the fall. I have PSY 110 to replace having to take PSY 241. After that I should be done with pre-req's, deadline is March. I plan on going to a nursing information session in June even though it's not required for current LPN's, I figure maybe they'll give me some more info. I hate trying to meet with admissions because none of the advisors ever seem to know anything about the LPN to RN program. I figure our point system is probably close to the regular RN point system. Also, did you study for the TEAS? Thanks in advance for any info!
