My mom has been off work for about five months and they first diagnosed her with vertigo and she was recieving physical therapy for it but it wasnt working. So she went to the doctor again and they did a ultra-sound on her neck to look at her arteries and didnt see anything so they did acouple CAT scans and found that she has a growth on her thyriod. They've done a biopsy on it and found it to not be cancer which is good, but it still left her without any answers because she doesnt have veritgo anymore and has passed all of those tests to rule that out. Well she has been recently diagnosed with Maniere's Disease it is caused by an infection in the inner ear getting into the bones and they slowly causing hearing loss, i think. She has been put on a dieretic for the disease and has changed her diet to only 1 tsp of salt a day so a very low sodium diet and has only been on this for about a week but cut the salt out acouple weeks ago because she thought she had it to and feels better over all but is still dizy. But the doctors wont remove her thyriod because of the risk of the procedure and its not causing any problems. But is it possible at all for the growth to be pressing on a nerve and causing these symptoms?
