Greenville Tech Nursing Spring/Summer 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I applied for Spring/Summer 2019 semester and was wondering who's applying and how many points do y'all have? I didn't get in last semester so hopefully I will this time around.

So I talked to someone I know in the nursing program and they stated that the first semester you have to pay out right for then after that fin aid picks up. So he said that its like 1200. He said that you have to go campus and talk to trio. They help students out paying for stuff when fin aid will not but needs to be done ASAP done in a certain time frame

Wow that is ridiculous. I will probably make a trip to financial aid. I emailed Tammy and she said that we start the second seven weeks during the spring semester but if we need more credit hours we will have to register for a general education course. I also talk to a girl that finished last year and she said that you register for all 4 classes and should take care of that so, my advisor said the same thing. But when I tried to register it does not let you but it is the same class times as our first 2 classes.

Yea, they dont even have classes you can choose from. Those classes usually arent available till next year sometime. As far as the TRIO group located 2nd floor of the library building they are only during certain time frame that they can help you so if you think you need that then be sure you go soon.

Okay thanks for the info!

Has anyone asked to switch start dates? If so, were you able to switch?

Does anyone know if you can take more than 2 classes a semester after the first 4 classes?

A little off topic, but hoping someone can help... What is the actual length of the program? The admin assistant and online says two years, but I also read it is (9) 7 week terms which is more like a year and half. Could you provide your start date and estimated grad date? Thank you!!

Also, I am not from the area, but moving to Easley this summer. How does Tri County Tech compare to Greenville Tech? Thank you :) :) :)

At Greenville Tech you have to finish the core requirements, then once you get accepted to the nursing program it will take 6 semesters of nursing classes (you have to go the first half of summer semester). There are 2 seven-week terms in each semester (summer only has 1). The catalog is very misleading. It's just short of an outright lie. Say you finish the core classes the first school year ('19-20) and get accepted for the next Fall Semester ('20), you would finish July '22. That's 3 school years plus 2 summers in my world. Also, forget about using your full Pell or Life because in the nursing program you would take 9 hours the first semester, then either 4 or 8 hours the next 4, so you are going part-time (but it will seem like full time because you are going to school 4 days a week with 3 of them long days). USC Upstate has a much more straight-foward program. If your grades are good enough, you could go to tech the first two school years, then get a BSN in two more school years at Upstate. At Tech, you'll only have a ADN after 3 years. See the attached sample schedule.

Ok I hope someone sees this. I am starting May 20th. I’m wanting see if any of you got help from Trio. I have to sign up for another class to get any help and even then it saves me only 200 dollars and having to buy yet another book for a class I don’t really need ughh. Anyways let me know thanks

What is trio ?

You can always take a class to put towards your bachelors. I don’t quality for the sc lottery or any this sememster because I’m on 5 credits so I took out a student loan.

Honestly I’m not real sure just read on here that some people said it’s a group at the school that helps with tuition. Also, the financial aid office told me I couldn’t even get loans unless it was six hours? But you were able to?
