I am new to this forum but it has been so helpful..can anyone refer to me great traveling nursing agencies in Florida particulary the Tampa area? And if you have the name of a really great recruiter can you PM or email me please.....thanks a lot

A medical exam is required by all companies. If you have a copy of a recent physical exam stating that you are in good health and fit to work most companies will accept that.

Do nursing homes require the same before you get hired? Frankly, I want to avoid the expense .

When I worked in nursing homes, upon hire they would schedule a person to see the medical director or a nurse practitioner who would do a cursory exam on site at no expense to the new hire. I don't know if most still do that. Since I have worked in home health, they have required me to bring in a statement from my own doctor. I have usually just gone and had an exam done at one of the clinics that do occupational health. Then I make copies of the report form that are good for a year.
