GRE today

Specializes in ER/SICU.

I have been a long time lurker occasional poster. I moved from ER to sicu about eight months ago to start my journey towards becoming a crna. Today step two is taking the GRE, and then getting started on the apps. I have gathered so many tips on the gre, links to useful websites, stats on what scores people were accepted with. I just wanted to thank everybody who post while attempting to get in, while in school, and especially crna's such a kmchugh, nilepoc, mwbeah, brennasdad, yoga and others your enthusiasm for your chosen profession is evident in your post and promotes a desire in others to follow suit. Thanks again for all the advice I have taken from your post.

I will second that! I have gained encouragement and sometimes a much needed reality check by reading posts here. To me, there is no better collection of information on this career and I often refer people here if they ask questions about applying. Almost every CRNA and SRNA I have met in person have been more than helpful and encouraging which cements my decision to get going on my apps this year instead of next. Thank you all. You don't even know how helpful you all have been. Especially the ones who have been there.

I took my GRE today...ugh! It was aweful. I did OK I guess and now I must wait. I have applied to 3 CRNA schools...Gonzaga, U of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and Bismark, North Dakota. My GPA is above a 3.7 AAS and above a 3.6 BSN. I got an 1170 on my Verbal/Quantitative GRE today, obviously waiting on the others. My biggest deficit is having started in a CCU just last February although I have been a nurse for 10 years (3 in the PACU). But I am rather old and would rather not wait!

I hope your quest is successful!! I will follow your progress...

P.S. This is my first post on here!! How brave am I? LOL :rotfl:

I chose to take a MAT test instead of GRE.Some schools give you an opportunity to have that test taken. I found it easier than GRE.Any comments? By the way, I just send my test results to Case Western... :D

I take my GRE tomorrow! I have been preparing for it for several months now. Let's hope it pays off. I have just started posting to this web site. It's fantastic. I read most of the archives and learned so much. I'm glad I found it.

Good luck to all you prospective applicants. I am submitting apps to Kaiser Permanente, Newman, and St. Elizabeth's this Fall.
