So...I worked in this one facility for over three years. Two months ago due to cut backs I had to leave because my hours were cut to maybe 9 days a month...and I can't pay my bills on that! I left on great terms, and they even said they would hire me back...which at this place is not heard of often at all! I miss working there much of the time, but love my new agency job because it has flexiblity and career growth potential that the other didn't have (and much higher pay!).:)
I get this call this AM from a friend that works at that facility...and after the typical greetings, I hear "oh boy, State is here, and the entire place...including patients, think you called them in!".
I about dropped the phone! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry! ME??? No way!!! In fact, I have done my hardest to not only promote that facility as being one of quality (not without its probelms...but better than any around here by far!!!), but brag about how I worked with such a great team of dedicated people and patients!
Plus, that facility knew that State was comming before I left! In fact, I joked with them on my last days about how certain people had planned vacation and hoped they would be in someplace sunny and fun instead of being at the facility during a state audit!
Oh brother...guess I am not in good standings now, and all because of some stupid rumor!
Has anyone else had these probelms they wish to discuss, or advice on how I can dispell this rumor so that I can return to good standings with that facility???:bowingpur

I've never had this problem but I will say that if what you say is in fact true and managment holds rumours as truth then perhaps you don't want to work there anyway. I used to work at a company that was called a rumour mill. As a test I started a harmless rumour and I could not believe how it had morphed by the time it got back to me.

I've been a victim of the rumor mill also, the last hospital I worked at before graduating (I was a CNA then) was horrible. One night I was told to leave because I had a fever of 102 and was feared to be contagious (turned out to be tonsilitis instead of strep). When I went back to work, a lot of people were surprised to see me- the rumor had been that I was sent home because I had come to work drunk! *sigh*
Just ignore it. They will find someone else to talk about soon, and I bet the DON doesn't believe you called State.
