Hi!
It looks as though I will be starting with Grand Canyon University in Jane of 2017 (just waiting on the finalization). I will be going for my MSN with an emphasis in public health, and it's all online, with one practicum.
I was just wondering if anyone else will be going to this school, or even this program? If so when do you start and what program? What are your feelings and thoughts about it? Anyone attend and graduate this school?
Thanks!

Racheal-
I am contemplating starting the DNP in January. I am on the fence because there is really not much in the ways of reviews out there in particular with the DNP. Hoping someone will have some information for us.
I saw some reviews about the school in general on online forums but nothing for the program I am looking into. For me this program is perfect between cost, time to complete and the degree I'm pursuing. Hopefully someone else can help shed some light for us though :)
Buyer beware, BSN

Oh, there's a lot in the way of reviews out there.
This school nearly went bankrupt in 2004 but it was purchased by a group of private investors also known as venture (vulture) capitalists.
They then dismantled the operation, sold off the detritus and took the business public. It now trades on the NASDAQ at around $ 56.00 per share. In addition to being a publicly traded concern they have the distinction of being the first publicly traded Christian school of post secondary education.
I don't know about y'all but I tend to to adhere to the Constitution when it stresses the importance of separation of church and state. In other words, render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and render unto God what is God's.
So how is this school in any way affiliated with Caesar.? Well, GCU being a for profit in particular accepts up to 90% of it's tuition monies from students who use expensive Federally backed Title IV student loans as well as Pell Grants to pay for their relatively high tuition.
You can look at (collegescorecard.ed.gov) to look for yourself.
Another issue I have with GCU is that they have recently tried to obtain non-profit status which was denied by their accrediting body for concerns among other things that a for-profit like a tiger can not change its stripes.
I have included the link that I refer too in hopes that it may help you make an informed decision although I suspect on your part you are quite enamored of this mix bizarre mix of pandering the name of Jesus in the interest of Wall Street profits.
But to each his own I guess.

I have read the reviews and many articles. I may be naive but I am confident in my decision with this school. To each his own is right - every review is biased and based on individual experiences. This program will open more doors for me and between the length, cost and set up I can't find a better school with this exact program. Not many have MSN-emphasis in public health and the ones that do are not online, are more expensive and have longer practicum requirements.
I appreciate your response but mainly was looking for reviews of those people already attending or looking to attend, but thank you.
