Grand Canyon University Summer 2015 Hopeful

Published

Hi there! Is anyone else applying to GCU summer fast track program? I am not sure which campus I am applying to yet. I would love to be on the main campus or St. Joe's but I am not sure which one I have a better chance getting in to. I currently have a 3.66 and have gotten A's and B's in all my pre req's, including science. However, I have had the hardest time in Anatomy this term and may possibly be getting a C+. Does any one know if I still have a chance at getting in? Also, I will be taking the HESI at the end of December!

Hi there!!

I am also applying for this summer, I think you have a really good chance!! I've heard summer is the least competitive and that most GCU students don't like to go through the summer. A 3.6 is very competitive so i'm sure you'll be fine :) I am applying to St. Joe's :) GOODLUCK!

Hi @jsweet14 and @Reneahh ,

I am also applying to St. Joe's for the Summer! Have you all completed your applications? And are you current GCU students? I just took the HESI and I am so glad that it is over. My pre-req GPA is a 3.9.

I am really nervous because it seems that a lot of people are applying to St. Joe's this semester, which is pretty odd because usually it is one of the least competitive. Also, I will have a pre-req course in progress this semester. And it seems that GCU students get priority, which I am not (yet at least) :(

I love GCU and hope to get in:)

Hi Maycation,

I have completed everything. I actually applied for this Spring and was on the alternates list, I was number 8 and I got down to # 1 :/. You have a great/strong GPA! :) I have all A's and B's but not sure what mine is.. St. Joe's from what I've heard is the least competitive but like you said, it does seem like everyone applies there.. so i'm not sure if that is accurate anymore. GCU students do get priority, I did most of my pre req's at community colleges and did this last semester at GCU. I will be considered a GCU student this time around :)

Hi @Reneahh and @Maycation!

I was thinking no one was ever going to answer! A 3.9 is awesome! I'm sure you will have no problem getting in. I ended up with a 3.625 overall GPA but I am taking my last 3 pre-reqs this term (A&P 2, Patho, and Nutrition). I also scored an 84 on the HESI test and i'm not a GCU student, I am a transfer from Oregon. How did you guys do on the HESI? I am applying to the fast track on the main campus, i'm hoping my stats will be enough! This is getting super nerve racking!!

Anything above a 3.5 is great, especially for summer! Also, a Hesi score in the 80s is good. Where are you taking your last 3 pre-reqs?

That's what I have heard so i'm hoping i'll be good! Unfortunately, I ended up having to take all three at different schools! Kind of a pain but it was the only way it could work! I am taking patho online at Rio Salado, A&P 2 online at University of South Florida and Nutrition at my local community college (Portland Community College). Which pre-req are you finishing this term?

Hi Aly!

I just got your message but unfortunately I don't have enough posts to apply in a private message so i'm just replying to you on here, sorry!

You did awesome on the Hesi great job! I almost took A&P 2 at rio but I got a little worried after reading all the reviews! How has it been so far? Are any of your tests proctored? I did a ton of research on online anatomy classes and the one i'm taking isn't too bad but it is definitely a lot of work! Holy cow though I didn't think about just doing everything at once for patho that is a good idea. Did you use your book for the essays in patho? I haven't bought the book yet and i'm trying to decide if i'm going to need it or not. I got my last few things (Hesi scores and background check) sent to GCU this week just in time! I was worried for a minute that they wouldn't get there in time but thankfully they did! Now comes the waiting game :( how are you feeling about it all?

Clear some space in your inbox. I can't send you a private message because it says your inbox is full :(

I was also on the alternate list for the spring semester so hopefully this year we will get it. Good luck 😊

@Maycation, I just realized my message isn't going through! I think they officially disabled the PM's for peopler with less than 15 posts :( but since no one is using this thread anymore i'll reply to you on here ha, sorry!

That's exactly what i'm wondering!! It's not like people were allowed to submit stuff after the deadline so I don't understand why they waited so long! I didn't even notice that other people had replied to your thread! Oh my gosh now I'm super nervous after hearing what everyone said! ha ah! That is weird that almost everyone is applying to st joes and I wonder how that one person was able to apply to two campuses? But there also is only a few of you so i'm sure you're fine! I don't remember what year it was, I feel like it was last spring maybe, but I remember that everyone on the thread that applied to st. joes had gotten in and there were quite a few of them! Super worried about getting in to main now. I'm starting to second guess my decision and I probably should have stuck with my original SHC choice :/ oh well! I wonder if you'd be able to ask if you could switch over to boswell? Wouldn't hurt to try I guess.

Awesome job on your last test! An 88 is still great girl! Especially for A&P! I ended up getting a 92% on my last lab test so I now have a 96% in lab but I still have a 100% in lecture. Also, my nutrition class is going much better thankfully :). I forget, are you taking the 8 week a&p course?

Heyy! I didn't see your post! It actually says that your mailbox is full so maybe you should delete some stuff in your inbox. Anyway did you get an email today from GCU? If so, do you know what it means. I'm so so so nervous now :(

And SHC isn't a summer option :( So I think the main campus is your best bet!

And great job in A&P!!! Hopefully I end up with an A. And yes, it is! I will be done next week!

But yeah, delete some stuff in your inbox or outbox and try to message me :)
