If the job your doing now pays well and if is something secure, might aswell stay there. Whats the reason your thinking about nursing if the job is great? I myself just quit my job to start an lpn so i can eventually do the bridge. If i go the cuny style i have alot of prereqs to retake and apply and see if i get accepted.
In my area NYS, it would be a waste of time to start or re-do an LPN Program, unless your career goals were working in LTC/Nursing Homes and or Doctor Offices. Hospitals want Magnet status which calls for all BSN Nurses by 2025.
If you need to work right away, do the ADN (2yr) nursing program. I would go straight to a BSN program. More job security, higher pay, and more specialty areas you would be qualified to work in.

Hello everyone I currently live in Florida and graduated LPN school in May 2011 but never took my NCLEX-LPN nor did I register to take it.I called The FL board of nursing and they told me since i5s been over 5 years more than likey I would have to take a refresher course and it would be the same cost and time as if I were a new student..I can't be too upset of course because it's my fault .I was too scared to take that exam because I thought I would fail .I want to know has anyone been through this? What were the cost and how long did it take to complete? Is it worth it or should I just go straight to RN school..My plan was to take the NCLEX LPN to bridge over to the RN..Thanks in advance everyone :-)
