I am looking for some advice from those that may have had a similar experience. I have been in the military and worked for the government my entire life. I graduated last December, got licensed in February, but never took a job. Partly because of financial reasons (hefty pay cut), and also because I am now trying to finish my BSN.
How much us this frowned upon and how hard might it be to land a job and adjust when the time comes?

Right now you are still within the first year since graduation so you are okay in terms of finding work. However, the window is rapidly closing. Once you are more than a year since graduation you are considered to be an "old" new grad, competing with the newer graduates for those valuable new grad positions. This will put you at a significant disadvantage. I would suggest you find work ASAP. The clock does not start over just because you are going right for your BSN. Good luck!
