BSN Student wants to enter the U.S. Navy.

hello guys,

I'm currently in my 3rd year in BSN at Trinity University of Asia- St luke's college of nursing. sorry for the long name. lol. i'm a dual citizen filipino-american And i'm just wondering if you guys could help me what to keep and what should I do starting from now, to avoid hassles on filing some papers etc. Any idea what can i do as early as now? thank you :)

Your school must have NLNAC or CCNE accreditation in order for your education to be recognized by the Navy: http://www.navy.com/careers/healthcare/nurse.html. As far as I know, there are no schools in the Philippines that hold either of those.

I would check in with a recruiter immediately to find out what you need to do. It's never too early to apply because by the time they're processing your application you may have your degree. But yes, have a recruiter look into your school and see if it's accredited.

My parents were RN immigrants from the Philippines. A classmate of theirs wanted to be in the US Navy as a nurse so they went to an accredited University and finished a master's degree r/t nursing and then was able to join. That was over 15 years ago.

Not sure what the regulations are today.
