If I continue filling out the application and go ahead with the process of joining the Army Reserves. Can someone tell me the different schools I would have to go to and for how long? Not sure if I can afford to pay my bills on 0-1 pay for very long.:banghead:

Your only required school right off would be OBLC which is 2 weeks long. If you think that you can not pay your bills long even after you use the soldier & sailor act to reduce your interest rates to 6% you might what think long and hard about joining since there is the possibility of being mobilized. When you are mobilizied you recieve base pay, BAH (based on your zipcode), BAS. If you are sent to a combat zone/hazardious duty localation your income is take free along with combat/hazard pay. If you have family after 30 days you will recieve family seperation pay.

thanks

just doing a generic search on the web, it appeared that the training was 7-13 weeks. 2 weeks no problem! i am definitely not joining for the money. i love my job and my paycheck. i spent 8 years enlisted in the navy and now find myself missing that military experience. i know all 8 years was not great but i would trade it.

OBLC for reserve RN's is 26 days long now, I know that most of us did not get paid until the course was completed. I'm not sure if my unit was just slow or that is the norm.
