From reading the previous thread "How Do I Pay My Bills?" actually prompted me to start this one, because I have the exact dilemma as the poster from that thread -- "HOW am I going to pay my bills???"
I read one reply in that thread that mentioned a friend of theirs was good at finding government assistance, and he is married with kids. Well, I'm in that same boat: married with kids, and right now I work full time (so does my husband), but I don't think I would be able to get through NS while working, even part time. And I know there are some students who get through it, but everyone is different, and I'm not one of those people who can still manage to make A's while working, taking care of kids, and a home all at once.
I've been waiting for my husband to graduate (in Dec.) and have been keeping my fingers crossed that he finds a good-paying job so I can quit my job, but I don't want to wait, and there's a risk that he might not find a good-paying job right away.
So, my question is this: Does anyone know about any kind of government assistance in San Antonio, TX that helps full-time students with living expenses? I'd hate to turn to government assistance, but I have no choice. There's no way I'd put ourselves in more debt than what we're already in, not to mention the HUGE school loan my husband will have to pay back starting the summer '09, so taking out a personal loan is out of the question. We have a mortgage, not to mention all the other bills that come along with having a home, plus 2 kids, food, gas, etc.
I would appreciate any help!! :)
