GOT THE JOB

Published

Ok so I finally heard from the hospital and they asked me if I wanted this position!? I said yeah...havent got the official letter yet, but was hoping to interview at this one pediatric office still. I have to call the pediatric office (medical assistant position) back tomorrow to see if the office manager got my resume..and hopefully set up an interview soon so I can make a decision soon if the peds office does offer it to me. For the hospital there sending me somewhere May 10th and I have to bring all this stuff, such as my s.s card, shot records, medication bottles, license etc. They do a physical, make you bend, stretch, lift, go on a treadmill, drug test, tb test, etc. they also give you some tax form to fill out at home I think lovely. Did yous have to do all this? Then I go back two days later to go get the tb skin test checked. I was interested in the maternity department they just posted the other day, but I was afraid to mention that to her. I guess the floor from what she said is telemetry/med surg. I thought when I applied it said medical teaching? What will I be doing on a telemetry/med surg. floor? I have to go to an orientation (not at the hospital) May 23rd (think it might last a few days). I asked if I had to come in and talk with anyone at the hospital, and she said since you interviewed with a recruiter..no. I mean she asked if I had any questions and I asked a few, but I still have some and sure I will have a lot more. l might not understand the paper work /benefits package etc. I dont even know when I can start bidding? Its less than what I was expecting...but its not totally bad I guess $11.65 hr. with benefits, but I dont really know how the benefits thing works. Anyone working in a hospital, how much are the raises and how often? Do different floors make more or is it the same? I would really appreciate if you could give me any insight! Thanks! Im just wondering if they just hire anyone (it said ged/high school diploma, or if they really liked me and since I have a degree. I just hope my schooling wasnt a total waste!
