At my school, Capstone placements are highly competitive, because many hospitals are overwhelmed with sheer volume of students of all disciplines and there aren't enough preceptors to go around. I was worrying that I wouldn't get my first choice, and that worry was compounded by the fact that I am literally one of the last few people in my class to find out where we have been placed!
But, I found out today that I *was* placed in my first choice, and I will be doing my capstone in the ER this summer at one of the nicer hospitals. I'm so excited! I'm going to learn so much, I know. I'm nervous.... I hope I get along with my preceptor! And also, it's an hour-forty-minute drive from my house... so that'll be fun. Yoikes!
It doesn't matter though, because I know I'm going to learn a ton. Can't wait to get started!
