Hi,
I've always been interested in nursing. I am married with 3 sons, and youngest is 17. Now, I am interested in pursuing a nursing career.:heartbeat I'm hoping someone could help me with some questions I have, please...
I'm thinking I could probably save some money by going to a Community College...am I correct in thinking this way? Any ideas about timetables as far as applying and being admitted? Also, since I am anxious to get working ASAP, would going for an RN there get me to work faster? And, given that I haven't seen a classroom in awhile, could someone recommend a class I might take before applying to nursing school?
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you all!

Hi,
I'm back at it again...taking a CNA class now (Love'n it!) Scheduled to take Anatomy and Physiology this school year...so far so good. Hope to get a part time CNA position this Fall also. People who know me tell me they think I'll be a "great" nurse one day. So, I am encouraged to stumble on!
However, I'm re-thinking the ADN degree...maybe going for an LPN first would be better for me. I could probably scrape up the money to go to a private school for it so that I don't have to wait for the CC to take me...Reason being, I've heard alot on here about how long the waits are, and I really would like to start working before it's time to retire!!! (lol) Also, working in the field would probably give me a better sense of what else I'd like to do and save time in the long run also. The LPN may be exactly where I want to stay, too! How does this sound to you more experienced Nurses?
On that note, does anyone have experience with any private LPN programs in the Cary/Raleigh area/Durham areas? I hear "WATTS" mentioned... and "ECPI" and there's probably others, too. Any other suggestions or thoughts will be very appreciated! Thanks again! Cycler
